2 month check-up

Leah had her 2 month appointment with the doctor this week. She is weighing in at a whopping 10 lbs, 5 oz. and is 22 1/2 inches long. She is doing great and is moving right along with the growth curve.
Thanks a lot to all of those mother's out there who failed to warn me about the 1st set of shots! I have heard a lot of cries. There is the I am hungry cry, the I am tired cry, the change my pants cry but never have I heard the "mommy it hurts, make them stop" cry. It was painful and there were a lot of tears. Leah cried some too. I know they are for her own good but oh boy....that was an experience. You know the whimpering/catching her breath noises that babies make? Well, Leah was screaming and I picked her up. She made several sudden "I am ok now" breaths and calmed right down. I have to admit -- that felt good. She knew mommy and I was able to comfort her. However, I was not a fan of that cry. It pierced all of the way through to my heart. Needless to say, I scheduled her 4 month appointment for a day that daddy has off work!

They got both legs and gave her Barbie band aids. One of them was as big as her thigh.

Thankfully we have not had to give her any medication until her appointment. She took a few doses of Tylenol to help with the low grade fever that she got the evening after her appointment. We were very excited to discover that she is a great medicine taker. I guess if all I had eaten in 2 months was milk I would be pretty excited to have something that tasted like grape too!

All is made better with a bath. She loves the water and coo's away.
