January, 2010

She may be little but she has figured out how to operate most of the adults around her. She knows where all of the soft spots are.

She doesn't sit still for long but always seems to take a few minutes to cuddle up with gramps.

She takes her books to grams!
Little miss independent....
I thought it was book time with mommy but quickly realized she just wanted my phone :) Oh well, it kept her in one place long enough for a quick picture with mommy!
She is a bit attached to mamaw when she visits. I don't think mamaw minds though.

Leah and her friends!

Leah has a bit of social butterfly in her. She loves to play with her friends. Here are some of her little playmates from January.

Brooke
Ty, Jenna (and Hank). She was a much bigger fan of Hank's when he was outside :)

And of course...Connor.

Now showing....SPROUT!

Praise the Lord! It is such an honor to know that God has not only blessed us with Leah but we are being blessed with the opportunity to be parents to another miracle - another one of His children.

We had our 21 week ultrasound today (at 21 weeks, 5 days). It was wonderful to see how much the baby has grown and watch him or her move around. Due to the amazing technology they can even tell us about the function and development of the vital organs. As far as they could see today, everything seems to be developing normally and we have a healthy baby. S/he weighed in at 1 lb, 1 oz. and is approximately 12 inches long.

This baby is definitely more laid back and relaxed than Leah was at this stage (of course she only stops moving to sleep). This baby was content and didn't move around much. Because of that, they were able to get great pictures of the organs, etc. but we don't have a whole lot of activity in the videos.

18 months already?!

Leah Marie turned 18 months old on the 6th so we celebrated with another round of pictures. The session was not as easy as 17 months ago but our little ham came through.

This was a laugh, not a scream.
A little thumb sucking break :)

There may have been a little bit of Cheerio bribery....
(We had to assure the photographer that we do not normally throw food on the floor and send her after it)

She showed the photographer some sign language as she asked for more Cheerios, this is the sign for more.

Hats.....

Remember when I posted about Leah loving to have things on her head....this is mommy's winter hat.

Happy New Year

Wow, 2009 was a GREAT year! We have so many praises to God. It was so much fun watching Leah grow and experience new things. In the past year she has learned to sit up, crawl, walk, babble, feed herself, and become more independent all around. Leah has been full of personality from the very beginning but it has really developed in the past year. She has her moments of drama but still loves to cuddle. She is very interactive with those around her but also knows when she wants her quiet time. We have not found any foods that she doesn't like and she will still choose vegetables over sweets. She knows how to identify body parts but refuses to be a puppet and do it on command. Reading books is one of her favorite activities. She knows her routine. She enjoys sleep and doesn't fight naps or bedtime. She loves animals (sometimes too much according to our very understanding pugs). She has times that she wants mommy and other times that only daddy will do. We love her more than anything and are SO excited to welcome her little brother or sister into our family in 2010.
