Uncle Jason

Mallory and Uncle Jason bonded immediately when they met.

Sunday at the Garber's

Sometimes family isn't defined by blood lines. Mallory met the rest of her extended Garber family at a Sunday family gathering.

Mallory and Nana Carol

Papa Tom with the girls. The matching outfits are compliments of Aunt Ashlin.

Aunt Vanessa introduced Connor to Mallory. He wasn't quite sure what to think.

Mallory fits right in!

Leah took the chance to get some Uncle BB time while Mallory was being passed around.

The ZOO!

We took the girls to the zoo while the weather forecast is still reasonable. Mallory slept in her stroller through the adventure (with periodic fannings with the mister). I am not sure who enjoyed the zoo more -- Leah or Jeff and I watching her!

This was our 1st trip to the zoo since last summer. Leah was so interactive with the animals and loved every minute of it.

Well, maybe not EVERY minute of it. She was a little too close to a pig in this one. That's ok, daddy to the rescue!

She kept pointing at the giraffes but was less than enthused at the idea of feeding one! She didn't cry but she held on tight to daddy and resumed the smiling when they got about 5 feet away.

Multi-tasking

Cuddling is a hard job but somebody's gotta do it. Daddy volunteers quite a bit. Just FYI, anyone that says men can't multi-task has never met my husband.

He perfected the skill when Leah was tiny. This picture is from July, 2008. :)

Meeting more friends

Amanda and I met while in college and have stayed good friends since. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding. She lives a few hours away so we don't see her as often as we would like.

Scott works with Jeff. He and his wife Megan love kids and have helped out with Leah several times, including when I went into labor in the middle of Scott's birthday party and Megan rushed over at 1 am to stay with Leah!

Big sister moment

Leah and Brooke have been friends since day 1, they are only a few months apart in age and get along great. It was adorable to watch Leah introduce Brooke to Mallory in her very own toddler way.

Once the introductions were over, it was on to playing for the big girls~

Hello Uncle Brandon

Leah has a special place in her heart for Uncle Brandon. The last time he visited, she stayed right with him the whole time. He doesn't admit it but I am pretty sure she has a special place in his heart too. He is just a big teddy bear *shhh....don't tell*

While Leah was distracted (by food of course), Uncle Brandon had a chance to meet his newest niece Mallory. I think he likes her :)

Brandon's girlfriend Alicia has 2 boys and was thrilled with our announcement that we had a little girl. I think she held and cuddled Mallory for 2 solid hours.

Happy Mother's Day

We took the opportunity on Mother's Day to take a generations picture. These are the moments and pictures that we will cherish for a lifetime.

Meeting more family

Mallory met 2 of her great grandma's on Mother's Day.
Great Grandma Shirley (papaw's mom)
Great Grandma Shanks (mamaw's mom)
She also met Uncle Ron and Aunt Jessi

Leah took Mamaw and Papaw for a walk while Mallory was making her rounds inside. Notice Mamaw went for her walk in her slippers. When Leah is ready to walk, she is ready NOW, haha.

Mallory makes 4!

Soo tiny

Many pictures are taken at a zoom so I thought I would post a picture of Mallory in the bassinet so you can see how tiny she really is.

Mallory's First A+

Mallory passed her 1st doctor's appointment with flying colors. She weighed 6 lbs, 13 oz. at 5 days old.

Welcome home

We have had a lot of fun figuring out the balancing act of 2 little girls. The 1st few days Leah wanted to be with Mallory all of the time.

Nana Carol and Papa Tom got Leah a tent and tunnel - that was a BIG hit! Welcome to the chaos that is the new Sedberry house. We love it!!

Lots of Introductions!

Despite being 3 weeks early, Mallory weighed 7 ounces more than Leah did at birth. We are convinced most of it was in her cheeks. The extra weight must have been from the steroids the doctors had given her to strengthen her lungs because she lost 10 oz. in the hospital and came home at 6 lbs. 13 oz. Look at those cheeks!Lots of family and friends welcomed Mallory at the hospital. Mamaw, Papaw, Grandma and Grandpa pulled an all-nighter in the waiting room anticipating the big announcement.

(I am not sure how we missed a picture of grandpa with her)

She must have known that Aunt Jewel and Aunt Jessie were leaving for the summer because she entered the world JUST in time to see them both before they left. Aunt Jessie left the next morning for the Philippines and later that week, Aunt Jewel left for Mozambique Africa. They couldn't make it to the hospital when I was in labor because Grams was in bed with Malaria from a recent trip to Haiti but came up later that day. (and NO, Malaria isn't contagious)

Aunt Kayla couldn't wait to get her hands on her new niece!
I used to work with Kimberly and Marcia at Ruppert & Schaefer.

Becky with Mallory - one of her 1st visitors :)

Erika works with me. Her little boy, Zachary, was born a couple months before Mallory. He was a little one, having been born at 35 weeks. Our office is full of babies!
Melissa also came to visit - she is expecting Liam in the picture. (*he was born on May 21st*)

Amy and Travis - Amy made Mallory an adorable pair of booties! Cara is a pastor at our church, Geist Christian. Holding babies is a perk of the position :) It was very sweet of her to take the time to come visit and pray with us as we welcomed Mallory to this world.
