I went to the doctor this morning. We are at 32 weeks and back on the anti-nausea meds. I was very reluctant for this because compared to my nausea at the beginning; this nausea is do-able. I have what would be considered morning sickness, nausea if I skip a meal or wait to long to eat and then don't feel too great in the late evening. All of that is much better than the first 5 months of this pregnancy with the "all of the time" sickness. The doc told me that she would not think much about it but I have stopped gaining weight -- since week 28 as a matter of fact. That is not good for the bean so if it means taking the meds to eat again, that is what I will do. I was surprised at the lack of weight gain because I am eating lunch and dinner just fine. I am able to eat about anything I want and usually keep it down. I guess getting sick in the mornings and sometimes at night is enough to keep me from gaining.
The other bit of news from my appointment -- the doc is pretty convinced we are having a girl. She kept referring to the bean as "she" and "her". Evidentially she doesn't care that we don't want to find out. I asked her if she calls all unknowns girls (some docs and technicians just have a default sex that they refer to all babies if the parents don't know). She said no, she just thinks it is a girl. Her reasoning's are my sickness and this reddish/purple band that I have all the way around my stomach. She said her experience is a dark line up the belly button in many pregnancies, but the band around tends to be a girl. The bean is a poker player when it comes to his or her heartbeat though. It was 148 today -- just at that point that you can't tell. I have said from the beginning that we will just have to wait and see because everyone has a different theory.
