Poor Leah had a long night on Tuesday night. She woke up several times and we could attributed a lot of it to the 2nd bottom tooth was was clearly trying to break its way through her gums. On Wednesday morning she was more fussy that usual. Rather than playing on the floor next to the bathroom while I got ready, she insisted that I hold her the entire time. Have you ever tried to curl your hair and hold a baby? Not only is it dangerous but it is also quite difficult. I had to sit her down several times and let her cry while I got ready. I talked to her but she would just look at me with tears running down her face --- screaming. If I didn't have 2 appointments set for the day that couldn't be rescheduled, I would have just stayed home and cuddled her all day.
I gave her some Tylenol for the discomfort and took her to Tanya's. I knew she would be in good hands and she smiled as soon as Tanya took her. I was a bit concerned because I knew Tanya had her hands full with other kiddos and wouldn't be able to just hold her like she wanted her to. Her eyes were tired so I suggested an early nap. About 12:30 I received an e-mail from Tanya telling me that she was STILL asleep. She woke her to feed her lunch and she went right back down and slept a majority of the afternoon as well. I was very happy to hear that she got some much needed rest after her long night. When I picked her up, Tanya pointed out the cause of the drama. LEAH HAD 3 TEETH! Not only had the 2nd tooth on the bottom came through but an eye tooth on the top made its way out too. Our poor girl! No wonder she was fussy! It is rare for an eye tooth to come through before the middle top teeth. We can tell the other 3 on top are close so stay tuned!
