Chicken Pox!

I noticed several spots on Leah's shoulder and back when I changed her clothes on Friday morning. I immediately called the babysitter and we decided it was likely a food allergy or something so I went ahead and took her to Tanya's. Once there, we checked her out again and decided to call the doctor. At that time she had spots but they weren't really blistered. By the time I took her shirt off for the doctor 3 hours later, she was covered in spots that looked like little blisters. After consulting with another doctor, it was determined that she has the chicken pox! The confusion by the doctors was because she isn't acting sick and doesn't even have a fever. They believe that is because she is still getting some milk from me and therefore has some extra antibodies helping to fight it off. They did a test of a spot for the lab but their results have been inconclusive.

Wouldn't you know it.....we kept Leah out of daycare last week so she didn't catch the bronchitis that Megan had, HA!

She is being a real trooper. I have noticed some discomfort when she is put down at night (likely because her back had it the worst and sleeps on her back). Other than that, she is eating, sleeping and playing just fine.

Because she could be potentially contagious, I have stayed home from work with her the majority of the week (Jeff was off on Tuesday so I worked). I have tried to use the time to get a head start on spring cleaning. I was fairly sick with my pregnancy last spring so I feel like I am a little behind and can't wait to get started! I have visions of the 1st day I can open my windows and clean, clean, clean! For right now, I am working on other projects. One of my projects this week was to clean out Leah's closet. I had a box on her closet floor that I was putting clothes in as she would outgrow them. I finally broke down and put them all away in a tote. That was a very bittersweet afternoon for me. I realize she is only 7 months old but I couldn't believe how fast time has flown by as I held up some of her tiny clothes.
