Predictions, Predictions!

Everyone has their predictions! Not knowing the gender of the baby is beginning to turn into a game now that I am far enough along that I am showing and carrying the baby certain ways. Some say boy and others say girl. The good news is that someone will be right! Our almost 6 year old nephew says “whatever pops out, pops out”. I think he has the right idea. So far, those that say girl are much more adamant about it than those that say boy. Dad Cox had a dream that it is a girl and he hasn’t been wrong yet on his dreams so he is determined. On the other hand, Aunt Trudy says it is a girl too but also says that she is always wrong, ha-ha. This baby is going to break the tradition somewhere! My boss is convinced that he has an overwhelming feeling that is a girl as well. On the other hand, many other family members think that the way I am carrying the baby is a giveaway that it is a boy. Of course the aunts on Aunt Trudy’s side that said boy felt much more confident after hearing her prediction that it was a girl, ha-ha.

As you know from my last post, we lost my great-grandma this past weekend. The funeral dinner was at my moms and the old wives tales came out. My great aunt told about saying that you can tell by hanging a string or necklace with a charm over the belly and watching which way it sways. According to the tale, we should be having a boy. Now, you know the family members that say girl wouldn’t stand for that. They denounced the experiment because it was not performed by the oldest female in the family. It may be fun to try out some of these other tales and jot the results in the baby book to see which ones turn out to be right.

We are still on a name search. The boy names are coming much easier than the girl names. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know.

Oh yippee, we get some input on names? Let's see...Trudy, oh wait, we can't do that to the poor child! Hmmm, I'll have to think about this for awhile and get back to you. Loved see you both last night. Joni, you're the picture of health, just as you should be and Jeff is just glowing. Where does it say that the little mother is the only one that can "glow"? You guys are so sweet! I'm so happy for you both. Talk to you soon. Aunt Trudy
