This past week we were in Florida on vacation with Mom and Dad Reed and sisters Jewel and Jessie. We stayed in Orlando and had a lot of fun. We spent the first day at Sea World. That is one theme park I could visit a hundred times and never get tired of the animals and the shows. We watched dolphins, sea lions, the circus and Shamu. We also had a chance to pet sting rays, walk through an underwater aquarium full of sharks and go to a manatee refuge. I stood on the sidelines and got some pictures while Jeff and the girls went on a roller coaster. We had to buy a stuffed Shamu to commemorate the beans first trip to Sea World!
The next day we went to Daytona. Dad used to race motorcycles and was very excited about it being Bike Week! Oh the people that come out of the cracks for that!! We saw a lot of neat bikes and walked on the beach down to the pier for lunch. We also found the most amazing salt water taffy. One of the really cool things was the Orange County Chopper area. I had my fingers crossed that we would run into Paul Sr. but no luck.
Each of us was able to pick what we wanted to do on our day and Tuesday was mine. I chose to just stay back at the resort where our condo was located and relax. We sat by the pool for a while and played some shuffleboard. The weather never really got hot last week but after the weather we have been having here in Indiana, I am sure not going to complain about the 70’s!
The next day we went to Sarasota and had lunch at a wonderful seafood restaurant, Philippi Creek. Yes, we drove 2 hours to get there. Jeff had gator! After that, we had a chance to drive through the community where my grandparents lived before they passed away. It is crazy to see how much everything has changed in just a few years. That afternoon was bittersweet for me.
Our other big adventures for the week were going to a spring training game for the Houston Astros v. Cleveland Indians (the Indians won – woo hoo!), the flea market, Central Florida Zoo and putt-putt (a family tradition even though dad has a really hard time accepting that putt-putt courses do not use professional grade putters). Everything was a lot of fun and it will definitely be a vacation to remember.
The bean accepted most of the food that we had last week and only rejected a few meals. I am very grateful to him/her for that. My belly has definitely grown in the past few weeks. There is no mistaking that I am pregnant now. There was a lady in one of the flea markets that looked at me and said “Oh, look at you – you are having a boy!”. She seemed very sure of her statement. I guess we will find out in about 19 weeks!
We have an ultrasound tomorrow afternoon. The doctor’s office has noted our file that the technician is not to ask us whether we would like to know the sex of the baby. I didn’t want to take any chances that I would cave in a moment of weakness, ha-ha. We are very excited to see a baby this time instead of a blob. I will be sure to post pictures soon.

And little Bean got to go too :) Did you go to the beach also? This place will always hold a special place in all of our hearts. I'm glad you all got to go. Hope you took lots of pictures.
