We had a bit of a scare the end of February when Sprout started showing signs of an early arrival and I was only 27 weeks along. Thankfully we were able to get the contractions stopped with a little fetal monitoring at the hospital and bed rest. Bed rest is an interesting choice of words when there is a toddler residing in the same home and a husband that works nights. Jeff's supervisor's were very understanding and he was able to take a couple vacation days to stay home. Not only did he take care of Leah, but he took care of a lot of things at the house so I wasn't tempted to get up and work on the to-do list. My mom has also been a huge help. She has came down several times on Jeff's days to work to help out around the house and with Leah. Of course I am NOT GOOD at sitting still. A friend from work reminded me that a clean house is temporary but a premature baby is a lifetime. I have focused on that and worked very hard to follow doctor's orders.
Along with the wonderful doctors, helpful family and friends and flexible work schedule, let's not forget
the power of prayer! I have thanked God every single day throughout this pregnancy for the blessing of another gift. Many prayers were also said to get us through the scare and we thank everyone that had us in their thoughts and prayers. Our church, Geist Christian, has also sent cards and notes on an almost weekly basis.
As you can see below, Sprout is doing great and is growing, growing, growing!
